I am Anthony R. Dutton
National Vice Chair
Anthony Dutton is the only child of Ruel Lee Dutton and Shirley Faye Shelton, of Trinity, Alabama. Born in December, 1959 Anthony graduated from Lawrence County High School in 1978 – just in time to see Jimmy Carter elected President. Key memories include the US Moon-landing, 1969; US troops withdrawing, under fire, from Saigon, 1975; Iranian Hostage crisis, 1979 (and the images of US special forces equipment on fire in the Iranian desert); Ronald Reagan's election, and military buildup. In 1986, after working in manufacturing and as a band instrument repair technician, Anthony entered military service, where he spent the next 24 years in the Air Force. He perfected his skills as a radio maintenance technician, rising from apprentice to shop supervisor – with a few detours into the realms of technical instructor, training developer, deployment manager, computer acquisitions, and systems security. His favorite “time” in the Air Force was his final deployment to Afghanistan, where he served with Combined Security Transition Command, Afghanistan, as technical adviser to the Afghanistan Communications Directorate, and his staff. After his retirement in 2010, Anthony worked briefly with Vets4Vets, a veterans service group focused on using talk therapy to help with PTSD and military transitions. Returning to electronics in 2012, he was a “roving” equipment installer, working telephone equipment system upgrades. The erratic nature of that work caused him to “cross-train” into truck driving – meeting his future wife Sharon Miller on the second day of CDL class. They drove as a team for 15 months, delivering freight to all of the lower 48 states. When Anthony went in to renew his CDL physical, changes to the medical requirements caused him to be medically de-certified – this, for a condition that had been “under control” with medication for a good 10 years. Further deterioration in Anthony's health convinced the VA to up-grade his disability rating to 100% – at about the same time that he became actively involved with the Veterans Party of America. After providing online “assistance” in his home state of Alabama, later Florida, then the Southeast Region, Anthony was elected to serve as the Regional Director, Southern region. That became the catalyst for his election as National Vice Chair, Veterans Party of America in the Spring of 2019.

I am Leavy Shoffner, Jr.
National Treasurer
My name is Leavy Shoffner, Jr., and I was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, in Neshoba County. I became a Christian at the age of 15, and surrendered to the ministry as a minister at the age of 16 and have been preaching ever since. At the age of 17, I enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard. I completed basic combat training at Fort Bening, Georgia, then continued to Fort Lee, Virginia, where I had trained at the US Army Quartermaster School as an Automated Logistical Specialist. Following that training I was then sent to the US Army Chaplain Center and School to be trained as a Chaplain Assistant at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. I was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Noble Eagle (OIF/OEF/ONE). I honorably discharged from military service in October 2005. Following my military career, I had completed my service at the rank of Specialist. I had received the following awards: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with Two Bronze Oak Leafs, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal with One Bronze Oak Leaf, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with "M" Device, Army Service Ribbon, Mississippi War Medal, Mississippi Longevity Medal, and Two Overseas Service Bars. I have been self-employed in the past as a general contractor but had to cease the work due to health reasons. Therefore, I have been self-employed as a tax preparer and bookkeeper since late 2018. I have served as the State Chairman of the Mississippi Veterans Party of America since late 2019, and in that short period we have formed a fully functional State Executive Committee, have brought the State Party into a more administrative organized position, and are currently in the process of establishing our first County Committee.
