The Veterans Party is a Party for ALL Americans
What one single group of Americans represents everyone? This group has men and women, African Americans, Asians, Hispanics, Whites, Islanders, Native Americans, and mixed Americans. This group has Catholics, Protestants (in fact, it has all Christian denominations), Jews and Gentiles, Muslims, Buddhists, Atheists, Wiccan,Sikh, Hindi and no religious preference. This group has married, single, and divorced, plus widows and widowers. This group has gays, bisexual, transgender, and straight. This group has the highest percentage of disabled to able bodied. This group has immigrants and citizens. There are rich and poor. It has moderates, centrists, liberals and conservatives, libertarians and apolitical people. All of these sub groups of America are found in only one group of Americans–they are our nation’s Veterans.
Our Veterans come from each and every walk of life in this nation. So why not a political party which does not cater to one group of Americans, or singles out certain groups?
Any laws made to affect any group of Americans will automatically have an effect on Veterans. Any laws passed to effect Veterans will have an effect on all sub groups of Americans. Any cuts to Veterans can become cuts to any group of Americans.
t would have been unimaginable 60 years ago, just two generations, for our nation’s Combat Veterans to come home missing limbs and being placed on secret waiting lists to die so VA administrators could collect bonuses. That Congress would reduce the cost of living annual pay raises for our Veterans that were so seriously injured in direct combat with the enemy that they were medically retired. It could not even cross the minds of Americans that Congress would ignore hundreds of thousands of complaints from Veterans about the VA healthcare system, over decades. There would never have been whispers of denying these retired disabled Veterans any Social Security benefits. But these have all happened, and gaining every day.
Who are these Veterans? They are your Grandfather or Grandmother, Cousin, Sister or Brother, Aunt or Uncle, Father or Mother, Son or Daughter, Best Friend or Neighbor. They could be YOU. When our women and men go into battle, they do not ask about the religious denomination or ethnic background of the persons to their left and right. They want to know if that person will get the job done and cover each other’s backs. They care about mission accomplishment and coming back, together. Isn’t that what you want of your elected representatives? For them to get the job done?
By establishing a Veterans Party, “Founded by Veterans, for ALL Americans,” we have created a party which truly does represent all Americans. We have a party that represents every group in this nation, and will fight to preserve the rights of all. Being a Veteran is not a requirement. As the Veterans’ one common bond is the oath to uphold the Constitution, that becomes the only criteria to join the party.
Will you swear to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America, and join the Veterans Party of America in making America better, by representing EVERY group of Americans?
